This summer, prepare your student to make the most of their abilities while having a great time. Campers will have the opportunity to engage in activities that will extend learning and enhance skills for success.  Campers will also have the option to receive additional educational support in Reading or Math.

Enthusiasm and encouragement abound at CTG’s Brain Camp; campers are celebrated for their accomplishments and rewarded for engagement in the program.  Activities include Arts and Crafts, clay/painting, dancing, karaoke, karate, mad science, sports, organized games and much more. Social skills develop naturally in our all-inclusive camp. Our staff is well trained, to develop friendships, promote a culture of cooperation and service, and increase emotional intelligence, and learn about civic responsibility, problem solving and philanthropy..

  1. In order to help your child excel in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade, a strong foundation in reading must be set. Your child will experience success while learning beginning phonics, blending skills, sight vocabulary, reading aloud, and comprehension skills.
    Reading and Readiness (K - 2nd Grade)
  2. Students entering 3rd to 5th grade depend on mastery of basic reading and math skills. Students will practice the skills necessary for reading success: higher order thinking skills, word attack skills and reading comprehension skills. Math skills include learning the multiplication tables, fractions, decimals, algebraic thinking and use of sequence to break down complex word problems.
    Skills Review (3rd - 5th Grade)
  3. Help your child get ready for Algebra, we will guide them through integers, one-step equations, inequalities and equations, graphs and functions, percent, probabilities.
    Pre Algebra (6th/7th Grade)
  4. Tutors help with the properties and relationships of abstract concepts such as complex numbers, matrices, sets, etc. Students will learn about polynomials, create equations in two or more variables, solve quadratic equations, interpret graphs and more.
    Algebra 1 (8th/9th Grade)
  5. Students will learn properties, measurement, and relationships of points, lines, angles, and figures in space. They will be able to identify and describe relationships between angles, chords and radii. In addition, students will learn how to prove theorems about lines and angles and their use to solve problems.
    Geometry (10th Grade)
  6. In this program, students will learn how to write an arithmetic sequence, solve exponentials functions, use logarithms, understand and use Pythagorean Theorem to prove identities, use the relations of the different properties, and more.
    Algebra 2 (10th/11th Grade)
  7. In order to have a successful senior year, we offer assistance and counseling to students throughout the college selection and application process. Counseling services include guidance in identifying post-secondary institutions that are well suited for each student’s interests and abilities, locating information and identifying deadlines for prospective schools, establishing a timetable for applications, facilitating completion of college applications, and assistance with composition and revision of college entrance essays.

SCIENCE EXPERIMENT
WORKSHOP

This session is designed to help your child prepare, organize and complete their science experiments projects that will be assigned in 4th to 8th grade.
Teachers will help students decide on a topic, organize implement the experiment, review data and research and analyze the results. After the full 2 weeks, students will have completed their science experiment ahead of time!

Our Approach

Closing the Gaps Services is certified to provide home-based intervention programs nationwide, statewide, and citywide. Several of our programs do not require the child to come to our center to receive the therapy or intensive learning service. Programs  can be implemented at home in conjuction with weekly phone consultations, and email support. We work with families accross the country utilizing web based programming supported by Edna Caceres, M.Ed and the certified providers at Closing the Gaps, Inc.
