About Us
We believe that all students can learn when provided with appropriate support and learning strategies, and that achievement begins with highly individualized instructional programs designed to fit individual learning styles and needs. Closing the Gaps Learning Center is a hub for a community of learners of all ages to come together to share and strengthen the learning experience. We provide educational services in three interrelated areas – instructional, consultative, and therapeutic. We offer counsel and advocacy to parents on educational matters. We are dedicated to promoting self confidence through achievement and fostering an appreciation of the importance of life-long learning and the gratification that comes with it. We recognize the significance of what we do as educators, and derive great satisfaction from touching the lives of students while helping them succeed.
Edna P. Cáceres, M.Ed. — Program Director
Ten years teaching experience in public school and private tutoring; Master's degree in Special Education; two years experience in early intervention and educational evaluations for Florida Department of Education and the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. Served as tutor-mentor for U.F. Athletic Association for two years.
Arthur S. Larralde, Ed.S., M.Ed. — Director
Twelve years teaching experience in Florida; Education Specialist Degree in instructional design and Masters degree in secondary education. Associate Professor at Santa Fe Community College High School Dual Enrollment Program. Served five years as mentor-tutor for S.F.C.C. Upward Bound Program and College Reach-Out Program.
